Is the problem the battery or cradle?

My nuvi doesn't hold a charge very long so I am pretty sure the battery is just worn out. I've been able to use it plugged in to the charging cradle and recently, even plugged in, it says low battery and shuts off. The car plug is fine because other items charge in the same outlet. The charging cable has been replaced and was working fine. If I replace the cradle, will it power the unit even with a weak battery as it has been?

The connections in the cradle are usually the problem and replacement of the cradle will remedy the power problem so long as the internal battery in the Nuvi is not completely dead.
