Like "unfdad" below, I have a Camry ('06) and want a minimal mount to hopefully fit in the car's clock recess flat space. What are the things sticking out on the side and back of the mount in the photo? What action is needed to work the mount, and how much vertical space do I need for that and the (assumed) dash mount stick-on disk?? (Dash has a recess about 3.4" front-to-back for a mounting surface, partly obstructed above.) (Beanbag, etc. too bulky.) Thanks for your patient help!!

The lever on the back of the base is a release to slide the gooseneck in and out of the oval base. The switch on the side is to lock or unlock the gooseneck, when locked the lever at the back will not depress, meaning the gooseneck will not slide out.
The base has a max width of 2.5" and max length of 3".

Thank you! (Does that mean it does not use suction at all?)
Is the base then to remain attached in the car and only the gooseneck lifts out? Importantly, does it need more than 1" to 1.2" vertical space to mount/unmount using the "lever" in back?

This is not a suction mount, the adhesive oval base does stay attached to the dash at all times. The gooseneck and with ball is taller than 1.2".

Thanks, Roxie! As to the height, the gooseneck is not the issue, unless it's really flared and would catch on the dash overhang as the gooseneck is removed. (Can it be rotated or reversed on the base?) My concern was the base part and the buttons, etc., to operate the mount.
Sorry to ask so much, but it's hard to get with just one photo and too bad our Calif law is so restrictive about GPS mounting.

The maximum width of the oval base is 2.5" and the maximum length is 3". These dimensions include the lever at the back and the switch on the side. The Gooseneck can rotate 360º when in the base.
