Hello

I'm planning to buy a Garmin Montana and a Garmin Montana Bike Mount for my mountain bike.

I'll use the unit during my all-mountain/enduro/freeride trips on my high mountain trails, i.e. on rough, steep and rocky terrain. Even proceding at trial speed, vibration and shocks are the standard.

I actually own a Garmin Edge 705 with his bike mount: this bike mount is normally safe enough for my needs (apart when I fall :-( ).

What bike mount you can suggest me for the larger and heavier Montana? The Garmin original or the other one?

If possible I want a low-profile, small, and light bike mount (the Montana is already big enough), i.e. the genuine one, but safety is my first
concern: I don't want to lose the 500$ gadget at the first stone.

Thanks
Kindest Regards

The Montana will not be the unit for you at this time because there have been some issues with high vibration uses. A few customers have noticed that the screen will jump all over the place in high vibration uses. If you do not think the vibration will be too bad then the Garmin bike mount will be stronger than the 274-1 with zip ties. I would suggest the RAM-B-149-GA46 as a more secure and maneuverable mount. You can make it so it sits on the handlebar also.

Another GPS to consider is the GPSMap 62S. It is similar to the Montana but has not been known to have the vibration issue and it will read better in the sunlight.
