on-line research lead me to 010-11030-00 replacement cradle. original msn-power cord never leaves the cradle but appears cradle side of the chain to the device is failed. only replacement will answer that question. however Garmin suggests 011-01730-80 is the correct replacement for Nuvi 780.. willing to buy whichever is correct appropriate.. s/n 1CG143581.. cheaper than replacing the device complete.

Both the 011-01730-80 and the 010-11030-00 are the correct part. One comes with the suction cup and the other does not. You will need to use your original. Replacing the cradle will most likely fix the issue.
