How do I minimize the shipping cost? I leave just outside of Toronto and Canada Post charges less than $4 to ship larger items than this. I'm willing to pay $17 for the item but refuse to pay such a high shipping cost.

Hello John,

I wish we could ship to you for as little as $4 but unfortunately shipping costs are much higher. Our shipping costs are lower than competing companies and are in most cases lower to the customer than what we actually pay. If you have an account with a shipping company we can ship it on your account. Shipping to Toronto is only $9.95 overnight if you are in the city and not rural.

Cheers

Thanks Jordan, the first time I keyed in my Postal code, it came up with a $25 shipping charge. $10 is much more reasonable.

Also, I see two part numbers for the same item. Can you explain the difference between 011-01730-80 and 010-10823-07.

Thanks,

Hi John - There is no difference. Either one will work just fine with the 765T. Let us know if you have any other questions!

I'm just curious to know why the cradle on the nuvi 765T fails after a couple of years? Is this an on-going issue (with this device or others) or just a design flaw since most of the cigarette adapters are below the cradle and therefor causes a natural drag on the craddle?

The problem is with not properly inserting and extracting the cable from the cradle. There are two buttons on the cable connector you need to press in to take the cable out of the mount. If those are not pressed properly the connection will break over time. Also tugging on the cable while in the mount will cause damage over time. What happens is the connection in the cradle gets physically damaged. I have had a nuvi 750 for many years with no problems with the cradle. My cable stays in the mount even when it leaves the vehicle.

I also keep my cable plugged into the cradle, but I have had to replace the cradle twice in 4 years.

I am sorry. But the problem is not how the user inserts and removes the cable. It's simply a very bad design. The cable pulls or tugs and puts weight on the connector. This will over time cause the connector to fail. It's as simple as that. The hideous one way to insert the cable is also to blame. Fortunately. Garmin chanded the connector in their 2013 higher end models. But look how long it took them. They also removed ecoroute as a standard feature. Garmin is not very proactive when it comes to customer satisfaction.
