I was wondering if I could modify the cigarette lighter adapter by cutting the end off and wiring it into my power bus (experimental aircraft). I would like to remove the battery from the 500 entirely. I did something similar with my old Garmin GPS pilot III which worked well.

Hello Maggie,

You can cut the end off but be sure to use a fuse inline to prevent damage. You can also get the wiring Harness separately.

Thanks Jordan! I've got a number of spare circuit breakers that will work for that. I just need to modify the mount so it will attach to my panel.
