I have a Zumo 550 mounted on my first large cruiser, using the locking cradle, handled base assembly and the power wire connected to the battery. Now I have a second cruiser, this one fitted with a 12V outlet, into which the straight 18-pin cigarette lighter adapter adapter would fit. It seems there is no way to connect the cigarette lighter adapter and cable to the locking cradle, meaning that I have to buy a locking cradle, handled base assembly PLUS a power cable to be able switch my Zumo 550 from one bike to the other. Is this the case, or I am I missing something really obvious?

Hello Terry,

You could drop by a local electronics part store or automotive shop and pick up a male cigarette lighter end. You would then solder the male end to your power cable. Tip is positive (red wire) and the outer contacts on the male cig end are ground (black wire). Be sure to use the proper strength fuse. Hope that helps.
