I had to make a cut on my long nmea 2000 cable at the base of my mast.
Is this product (female connector) along with the male connector (NMEA2CONM) what I should use for connecting the 2 parts together?

You could use those two connectors to connect the cables.

I placed an order to purchasing those connectors, but further reading in the NMEA 2000 fundamentals doc mentions a "drop cable" , which is a "Cable connecting a NMEA 2000 device to the NMEA 2000 backbone. Drop cables are limited to 6 m (20 ft) maximum length."

Is it required to reconnect a cut cable with a drop cable and an inline terminator? If so, I may be in trouble because the last part of my cable that reaches the top of the mast is 42 feet long, which is longer than the 6m indicated above.

Thank you for pointing that out. When you add a connection in the middle it will reduce that 20ft spec because of the connector loss. You can put a power supply in the middle with a power isolator. Here is a NMEA 2000 manual.

Just copy paste the above link in the address bar of your browser. They give you some ideas on properly balancing the power on the nmea 2000 network.
