Hi - I installed a Garmin 17x on my sailboat about a year ago. I use it to provide gps data to my High Frequency radio and its Pactor modem. All was working well until a few days ago. I was actually talking on the radio at the time and I saw the lat/lon coordinates go blank, and the gps hasn't worked since. I got my meter out and did some tests it is getting power ok, but no signal seems to be coming out of the unit. Any ideas on what could be wrong or how to fix it?

Thanks!

Jim

Sounds like the unit is dead. Was the antenna mounted close to a VHF or other transmitting radio antenna? If yes that could of fried the unit. Is the power clean? do you have a lot of spikes in the power lines?

You will want to contact Garmin while the unit is still under warranty. they may know the issue you are having better. Please call them at 1-800-800-120
