In order to use the 18X LVC you will need a 12V to 5V DC to DC converter to adjust the power voltage. You will also need a TNC for your radio. Based on the information I can find the kenwood Tm-D700A already has the TNC.

You will need the GPS/NMEA cable for your radio. It will have a 2.5 mm jack on one end of it and bare wires at the other end. Here is the wire assignment on the radio side based on information found online.

2-RxD = White (end)
3-TxD = Red (middle)
5-Ret = Shield (ground)

The GPS 18X lvc wiring diagrams are found on page 8 of the manual.

You will need the Kenwood NMEA cable, 18XLVC, heat shrink, DC to DC converter and a soldering iron to complete the job.

You may want to use the GPS 18X PC which comes with the 12V to 5V, DC to DC converter, in the vehicle power plug.
