Hi -

Can someone let me know if the cable associated with the 16x LVS is integral to the receiver, or is it detachable? If detachable, how is it connected (RJ45, etc). I realize the 'user' end has a shielded RJ45 connector.

Thanks. I'm trying to decide between the 16x LVS and the 18x LVC for use as a stationary, and likely outside mounted, PPS and NEMA 0183 time source.

Hello Curt,

The cable on the 16XLVS is permanently attached, the same is true with the 18XLVC. The Garmin GPS17XHVS is one other Garmin option that does have a removable cable. It uses a marine style connector. I don't know the PN at this time for the connector.

Thanks Jordan.

Yeah, I like the 17x HVS a lot. Gotta love that classic Garmin style. But my current plans are to only have 5.0v available, not 12v.

I also noticed the Garmin firmware release for the 17x has lagged the 16x LVS and 18x LVC releases by a year. Curious, and somewhat worrisome.

Thanks again for the info.
