Will an 8GB MicroSD card work in the Dakota 20? Garmin sells up to 4GB cards - not sure if that is the maximum recommended.

Thanks

8Gb will work but the max Garmin map image size is 4Gb.

8 GB will give you a lot of extra space to save much more tracks to data card before it writes over when full. Unlike the tracks from the "tracks page" you cannot transfer data card tracks using the map software. But, you can insert the card and view its contents and then you can open it with the map program. All of them will automatically be arranged by date. The number of tracks saved on the tracks page (the number of tracks your device is capable of storing) is irrelevant to those saved on the card.
