Hi, when I try to register my 450, I get a message " 1xx124677 , software version 4.40, wrong device". I got the serial # beside the batteries, under the bar code: 9 digits, 2 are letters. It is the only 9 digit number inside. The other numbers are FCC ID: 8 digits with 3 letters, and another one under ANATEL, 10 digits no letters. Please help

The serial number appears to be correct for the Oregon 450.
You may also want to try registering the Oregon while it is connected to your computer as this will usually read the unit for you.
Please call Garmin Support @ 1-800-800-1020 for assistance in registering the product.

I waited 45 minutes, then on the 4th time it registered. I can see it is going to be a hit and missed with this unit... Is it more common with handheld?
I've had 2 automotive run good , updates are smooth.

It is not common at all. Not sure what could of happened. Garmins site could of been down at the time.
