I am under the impression that topo v4 is not able to be updated for current street maps(I dont really want turn by turn just a current map for cities) is birds eye topo updated from garmin to keep current in street maps or is it the same as topo v4?

Birds eye Topo are Raster maps. They have older information in them than the Garmin Topo Canada V4 in some cases. Birdseye topo just looks and feels like the paper maps you can buy from a map store. It is best to buy City Navigator DVD if you want city maps and driving directions that are kept up to date.

Topo and Birdseye Topo are meant for backcountry use and not urban driving.

The map in topo4 is quite good that is all I want, just was looking for a way to make those maps current, is there a newer version of topo canada coming in the distant future?

No, topo maps are not updated on a regular basis like Street Mapping. I don't foresee an new topo map for a few years.
