The RAM-B-149-GA46U motorcycle mount will fit handlebars that are 7/8" or 1" in diameter.

Are you sure that your handlebars are 1/2" diameter as that is very uncommon?

The RAM mounts for the Montana are unpowered, so if you are OK with using the Montana on battery power alone, their mount should be OK.

Garmin sells the "AMPS rugged mount" which lives up to its name and is ready to be powered from the cycle. You will need a bar clamp, swivel extension, and a ball plate, all RAM stuff, to complete the set up. With an included tool the release can be disabled making it virtually fall off proof. Worth the $.
