I have a 62S on which I have loaded some Topo maps of the area. But how do I switch back to the internal base map for highway travel? For that matter, I plan to install the City Navigator North America DVD maps too, and then how would I switch between the City Navigator map and the Topo maps for an area?

To see the basemap you will need to turn off the Topo maps. You should still be able to route down the highways without turning off topo. When you leave an area that you do not have Topo maps for the unit will Automatically bring up the basemap.

To enable and disable maps hit the 'Menu' button twice to go into the main menu. Then select 'SetUp' then 'Map'. In the 'Map' menu you can select which map is on or off at the bottom of the page, 'Map Information'. Select the map you want to see or disable

Thanks Jordan. In playing further with the unit I was able to pretty much figure out how that works. But the names for the maps in the scroll down menu are VERY confusing. I was hoping to find "base map", "City navigator", or "north central topo" listed as choices, but whatever is there (too confusing to remember) is NOT very intuitive. The "enable", "disable" functions are also kind of clunky - a simple check box would be easier to follow.

Thanks,

Steve
