I am in the process of downloading topo maps into my Custom Maps and seem to have mastered the process. But my question is,,,,, is there a way to download Google Earth images into the GPS unit as well. Rather than have my topo maps be displayed as I hike through the woods, can I have images from Google Earth ? And if so, thru the process of enable/disable, can I toggle between positioning myself on the topo maps and positioning myself on the simple google earth images?

Using the Garmin BirdsEye Satellite Imagery Card with Annual Subscription would be the easiest method.

And if I had the Birds Eye card installed, could I switch between topo view and birds eye view on the fly ??

The Birds Eye card is only a yearly subscription that will allow satellite images to be downloaded to 1 compatible GPS.
The images can be loaded to internal or external (micro-SD) memory and can be turned on and off as required.
The images are transparent and will overlay onto topo or street mapping.
