Hi,

I finaly choose this model over the Oregon since I will use it for kayaking, snowshoeing and snowmobile expedition. BUT, I am a bit confuse between de 62 s, st, sc....The SC is less expensive then the st but have a lot more memory and come with rechargeble battery..Does the st and sc have the build-in camera? Is there any others difference between the to model that I may be missing?

I asume there is no model who support 3d?

The units with T in the name will have Topo maps preloaded using up the extra memory. C means Camera and S means Sensors. The ST does not have a camera unless it is labels STC, None of the GPSMap 62 Series supports 3D at this time

In the pictures I see of the 62 series, it shows a 3D Topo map on the screen, but you stated they do not support 3D Topo maps?

What you are seeing is DEM shading and not 3D topo. The unit will shade one side of the hill to give it a better look but it does not view in 3D.

If I buy the GPSMAP62SC (399/3.5 GB) today, could I later purchase & upload TOPO maps to the 62SC ? If so, would that then make it equivalent to the GPSMAP62STC(499/3.5GB), Other than being all back rather than with red trimming
Or are there any other differences?
I'm on the GARMIN US website but cannot determine for sure if it is possible, or if there are any other differences:

You can buy the maps at a future date and and them to the unit.
Garmin do not make a GPSMap 62STC for Canada so if you add Topo Canada to the unit it will not be the same for it will have a different map. It will be similar. The functions of the unit will be the same.
