We are doing a project at the mine and will be receiving over 1000 pieces of equipment on our site very soon. This equipment will be organized on a landing site and we are looking for something where we can locate EACH piece of equipment when we need to. In researching the Oregon products, it looks like we would be able to put in a Waypoint for each piece of equipment with the Tag # inputed and have the coordinates tracked with the GPS...?? Would this work, or is there some other GPS that would work? Also, would it be able to transfer data into an application such as Word or Excel? Thank you!

Yes, what you mentioned can be done. You can also make your own map to put in the unit using Garmin custom map feature. You can find tutorials on our site and Garmins.

You can export data as CSV which will easily open in excel. To do so you need to download the free program Garmin Basecamp.
