Just purchased an Oregon 450 and adding maps to micro SDHC using BaseCamp. I read somewhere about "setting the level of detail" and I'm not sure if this was in referrence to the 450 or BaseCamp. Can you please educate me?

Thanks

You can set the level of detail when viewing the maps on the computer using Basecamp and on your unit. It will control what what detail you see at different zoom levels. In Basecamp there is a slider bar on the map. In the Garmin Oregon 450 there are settings in your map menu.
Setup -> Map -> Advanced Map Setup -> Detail

does the level of detail in the GPS unit have any impact on other functions or how much information is provided? The unit shows normal, more, most, etc. where should I set this for basic operation (normal?)?
