Currently researching a handheld GPS. Comparing the Vista HCx with the GPSmap 60CSx using the comparison chart there seems to be very little difference. In the real world what are the differences in these two units that would make me want to spend a little over $100.00 more for the GPSmap?

When comparing the Garmin Etrex Vista Hcx and the Garmin GPSMAP 60CSx, you are going to notice the antenna specifications is the main difference. The 60 series has a quadrafilar helix antenna designed to acquire satellites better in areas of obstruction such as tree coverage, valleys or between tall buildings in a city center.

Screen size (the 60 has a larger screen), computer interface (serial or USB for the 60, USB only for the Vista), and battery life (18 hrs-Vista, 25 hrs-Vista) are the other key differences.

Thanks. I figured the biggest difference would probably be the antenna.
