If you're looking to load Bluechart data we would recommend a unit with expandable memory, as the charts are only available on preloaded memory card.

The Garmin GPSMAP 62S accepts microSD cards, or you could try the Etrex 20 or 30 which use both GPS and GLONASS satellite systems that acquire signals very well under heavy brush and other areas of limited satellite coverage.

What you want is a Garmin Montana 650 GPS unit. The GPSMap 62S will do what you want but the Montana will be easier for you to use. It is also best to buy all your maps on pre-programmed cards if you prefer not to use a computer.
