Researching these two Garmin models I have read where the 60CSx with its compass and altimeter may be slightly "glitchier" than the 60Cx. Do you know if the 60CSx is less stable than the 60Cx or is this just a wives tale.

Thanks

When comparing the GPSMAP 60CSx and GPSMAP 60Cx there are only 3 main differences. The Barometer, Altimeter and Electronic Compass. The stability of the units has little to do with these extra features, and more to do with it possibly being a defective unit. We have not heard of any specific problems with the 60Csx.

That is correct. The issue with the 60CSX is it uses barometric pressure to measure the altitude. In most areas of the world the barometric pressure changes during the day and because of that the sensor in the 60csx needs to be re-calibrated. However if you calibrate the sensor properly the altitude reading will be more accurate than the base GPSMap 60CX

The complaints I had read cited possible problems in the interface between the barometric/compass functions and the gps side. Thanks for the insight from the tech support side of things.
