How will the eTrex 30 display in Europe?

If I buy and bring eTrex 30 to Italia, what will I see on screen? If I am in city, is it practical to set waypoint at train/bus station and then when ready to return to waypoint via available streets (on foot)? If I go on Cinque Terre trails, what will I see? If I buy topo maps, what would I see in cities? Thanks

The eTrex 30 comes with a Basemap that will only display basic detail such as major roads, country and state territorial lines and major cities without any details of streets or roads and points of interest.

For detailed city navigation map of Italy:

For detailed Topo map of Italy:
http://www.gpscity.com/garmin-italy-trekmap-italia-v2-microsd-card.html

The Topo mapping will display roadways but is not as up to date as the City Navigator map.
