Hello again. I've asked a couple of questions regarding different gps'. I might as well continue. I own a rino 130. The frs/gmrs radio is very poor. It has a low transmission distance, and also is very hard to read at short distances. I can be 100m away from someone with a regular frs radio, and the transmissions from my set come through with a lot of background static. This has nothing to do with squelch on the other radio, as different transmissions from different radios are all fine. I have done a complete reset of the unit with no change. Do you know of a fix? The radio side of this unit is a huge disappointment for me,both regarding transmission power and readability. I have no readability issues using other radios. Thanks/

The Rino 130 is know for not having very good GPS reception or battery life. The Rino520hcx and 530hcx fix those problems. As for the static based on what you said if other radios transmit to you with no static then the one that has static is the issue not the rino. I may of misread your comment. If that is not the case I would update your unit with the Garmin update software "webupdater" If that does not work then you may want to send your unit to a Garmin repair facility.
