Aside from the radio functions, the screen size and resolution, as well as many other features seem to be pretty much the same for both the Rino 650and the 62s. The Rino has touch screen so I expect the visibility in sunlight might be a bit lower. Do you recommend one over the other? I have an older Rino 120, so a second Rino might be an advantage, but I don't want to make a compromise on the GPS part. The Oregon 450 and 78s are also options I'm considering. I mostly do some hiking and kayaking. Thanks.

If you need a the radio integrated then we recommend the Rino series. If you do not need the Radio then the Montana 650 is my first recommendation followed by the GPSMap 62s(78S) then the Etrex30. The Etrex 30 has the best position because it uses both GPS and Glonass but has the smallest screen and the resolution isn't as nice as the larger units.

Garmin Rinos work best in pairs so because you already own a rino 120 you may want to stay with another rino.

Thanks for the info. Since I hadn't mentioned the Montana series, did you mean the Oregon 450 or did you really mean the Montana?

I did mean the Montana. I recommend it over the Oregon but the Oregon will be alright. Just a smaller screen and no audio output.
