In looking at a comparison of these two GPS units, the 62sc indicates it is Custom Map compatable, however the 62s is not. Is this an error?

An additional question about memory. Is there any reason to go for the 62sc because of its double size onboard memory, if you do not need a camera feature? I wonder if the camera has dedicated space on the memory module? Or is using an 8GB SD card just the same?

Both units have the same features except that one has a Camera built and memory built in. The pictures will save to the internal memory. There is no allotted space. You can load maps and pictures on the internal memory until it is full.
