I am looking to buy a garmin gps,the sole purpose of the unit is to use atving ,All i am loooking for is a unit that will display my location correctly and record my trails so that when i return to the bas camp i can down load them and view them on my computer and store for later refernce can you suggest the best unit for this not looking for any bells or whistles just user freindly unit thanks

All the mapping handheld units are user friendly and will do what you mentioned. The Oregon series is popular with geocachers and hikers. It will be suitable for your use. Other units that you can use will be the Montana 600 and Etrex 30. The Montana has the larger screen. The Etrex 30 has better reception in tough to track areas but has a real small screen and it is not touch screen.

I have the Dakota 20 and swear by it. Its cheaper and does everything this does and its a little smaller.
