How to put in a full grid reference?

When I am putting in a waypoint I want to travel to I have to put in a full grid reference ie 2 numbers and a letter then the the 2 letters in top corner of sheet then the grid ref can you tell where to find the first 3 digits please

Example 33U PH 16094 24690 so the 33U is the question I refer too

What format are you using MGRS, UTM, User defined UTM ....

If you choose the correct position format in the unit settings it will give you the ability to modify the digits you are mentioning. The following video should help you find the menu.

I am on MGRS will need to change to a OS explorer map for one of the mountains as I am doing the nat 3 peaks in uk.
So does it set itself to work with whatever format is used ie for the OS EXPLORER map will I put it to British format?

Where I am now it is 31U but in other places this changes will this kick in when I'm at bottom of mountain? In Berkshire it is 32U so I don't know where to find this info to input it ?

I am going to assume you are trying to enter in a waypoint if the video did not help. To enter a waypoint with your own coordinates you need to mark a waypoint in your current location and edit to position data. Here is a video that shows you how to mark a waypoint. Just select the position field and edit it.
