I have read that this model only reads 2GB of microSD card. Is this true? And if so, does it mean you can still use a larger memory card (8 or 16GB) but that it will only be able to read a max of 2GB of data at one time?

Hello Brent,

We do not recommend the use of cards larger than 2Gb in older Garmin units. Garmin has made some changes to various units to increase the max size. I believe larger cards will work but the whole card will not be read all the time depending on the unit. Garmin does not specify a limit, only that they increased it to be able to use cards larger than 2Gb. We only recommend 2Gb for that unit. Have fun!
