In playing (programing ) my new 78sc, I seem to have lost the ability to access the tide and current info. any ideas on how to get it back??

As long as you did not delete any files from the internal memory of the unit you should be able to get them working again. Hit the 'Find' button then scroll all the way down to tides. I think it is on the second page. If you do not see it I would suggest a firmware update and a RESET. If they still do not come up you will need to contact Garmin 1-800-800-1020.
