What is the difference between Archived and Saved tracks?

I have the Garmin 62s. I usually save a track after I have created it and give it some useful name. I noticed there is an "Archive" option. What is the difference between just saving the track and "archiving" it? So far, they seem to be the same but just stored in different locations. Am I missing something?

Thanks much.

A saved track is one that you manually transfer from Current to Saved.
An Archived Track is created from the Current Track Log to free up more space for the Current Track to continue recording without losing any data. Archived Tracks save all of the information from the Current Track.

Hmmm, well there is an option on the 62s to "Archive" a "Saved" track which appears to just move it into an Archived "folder" on the 62s.
