You can download the free program BaseCamp and Mapinstall to put the maps on the 62s. Just visit Garmin.com
Use the Mapinstall program for installing the map and the BaseCamp program to manage the waypoints, routes, and tracks.

Can you use Mapsource rather than Basecamp with the 62 models?

MapSource does not work with new units. Basecamp and Mapinstall are free and will use your mapsource maps. Basecamp and Mapinstall are far better programs once you learn to use them. WE have many videos online on Basecamp and one coming shortly on MapInstall

What is the maximum number of maps you can load onto 62s?

What's the largest capacity microSD card it can see?

Does it have builtin storage besides the microSD?

thanks mucho

The max number of maps is not specified by Garmin. It used to be limited to 4GB but that is no longer the case. the unit can hold a lot more. I have tested it with a 16GB without any issues. Yes it has internal memory. It has about 1.7GB

Yes you can use Mapsource to download the maps and tiles of maps by using the Mapsource tool.
You can also use Mapsource to save your track & waypoints but your track & waypoints will be in 2 separate files. One for the track and one for the waypoints. For this you open Mapsource and go to /Files/open/Computer/Garmin drive/Garmin directory/GPX/and you will see the 2 files. You save the track and after you open again for the waypoint and copy and paste the waypoints in the file you made before. It is longer, but it is possible.

Mapsource in no longer used for that. Please use Garmin Basecamp that replaces Mapsource. It will work properly with no messing around. Basecamp is Free! and more powerful.
