I am having trouble getting DNRGarmin to recognize my(new)62s. I uploaded some tracks at my collegue's home using it and everything there worked fine there but, at work I am having difficulty. The error message states:
GPS on com port 1 failed to initialize. Check the following:
1) Your GPS is turned on
2) The proper port number is set
3) You have the latest driver installed for your GPS
4) You have the latest firmware installed on your GPS
The GPS is on. How do I set the port number? Where do I get a DNRGarmin driver? Where do I get, "firmware", and what is it?

To upload the latest firmware to your GPS you can download the firmware using the free program Garmin WebUpdater. You can download it from the support section of Garmins site.

** Using a Com port would be the incorrect way. It is a USB device so you should check the communication settings and make sure that it is not searching COM ports.

It is best that you contact the makers of the DNR software for support with their software.
