Is this compatible with Japanese UUD maps?

This unit will be used for some hiking but the main purpose will be for GeoCaching. The maps others are using can be found at UUD Japan GPS Navigation. The site says it is compatible with the Garmin 62. Anything you can add? I want to make absolutely sure that these maps will work for my purpose or I will have one especially expensive brick on my hands. Also, is this the best unit for in-city use? My iPhone works but tells me very strange things about my location within the city.

To follow up on the map situation, I heard back from UUD Japan GPS Navigation and they say it is compatible. I'd feel more comfortable hearing this from both sides of the equation.

We would not be able to verify the UUD mapping without having access to it. I am sure you can take their word that it works.
