If you project a waypoint you get two different locations depending on which mode you use, magnetic or true north. So, if you do a sight n go to a certain landmark, you should also get two different end points. This doesn't make much sense. What am I missing here?

I have not been able to duplicate what you are seeing. When I use sight and go it only creates one point as the destination/waypoint using either north reference. It does not create two points.

Do you mean that it creates a waypoint in two different locations when you change north reference and do another projection? If so that is because the compass does not point in the same direction when you change North reference. There will be some deviation between Magnetic and true north and it will vary as you travel the world.

I suggest trying a firmware update using the free program Garmin WebUpdater. Back up all user data first. If the problem still exist it is best to phone support @ 1-800-800-1020
