Does this have coverage of the Great Lakes and Georgian Bay?

Does the 78sc bought in Canada include the Bluechart maps for the Great Lakes and Georgian Bay? If not does it make more sense to buy the 78s and the Canada Inland Lakes separately. Also any change on the ETA of these? Thanks

Hello Dave,

The unit comes preloaded with coastal data of the USA. For Canada you will have to buy the higher resolution charts for your area. This is a new product that is not out yet. When we have one we can verify what maps are lacking for Canadian waters. Feel free to check back with us.

PS. It is always better to buy the software seperatley so you can view the maps on your PC/MAC. For marine charts you will also need Garmin Home Port to view on your computer.

Wondering if there is any update on this yet? What unit comes with these features but also Canadian maps? It states there is a worldwide basemap with imagery. What does this mean? Are we talking topo map of the world & if so, at what level of detail?

The unit comes with preloaded USA data only. for Canada just a shore outline that is not accurate. You will need the Canadian card with this unit. Here is a link
