The GPS-city price for the 60csx is nearly double the price for the newer 62s. Features are nearly identical, except for colors.

What do I miss ?

The 60CSX works much better than the GPSMap 62S. Most people who have owned both mention the GPSMap 60CSX is much better.

The 60CSX does better track management and route management. It also has a preferred menu system by experienced users. The GPSMap 62S is good but Garmin dumbed it down so everyone could find it easy to use. The GPSMap 62S has a lot more features but does not do some of the common ones as well as the GPSMap 60CSX. If you are new to GPS the GPSMap 62S will be sufficient. The GPSMap 60CSX is discontinued and because experienced users want this unit the price is higher. The whole supply and demand scenario.

I don't have the 60 but i believe one of the biggest improvement over the 60 is with the map management - numerous maps can be loaded into the 62s and each given a unique name. Then on the 62s these maps can be enabled/disabled independently. ON the 60 there is only ONE map that can be used - so if a different map is needed the current map in the 60 has to be erased/removed and the new map loaded into the unit - 60 users please tell me if i'm wrong.

The 62s menu system or GUI is one of the worst i've used over all the gadgets i have - it's quite clumsily done....you'll struggle to make sense of it if u have previous GPS usage...
