I do not know of a safe way to remove scratches on a touch screen.

If I wanted to have the screen replaced, does GPS City offer a repair service? Alternatively, can you recommend a repair service in the Vancouver, BC area?

Garmin has only one repair facility in Canada. It is Raytech in Laval QC. They will not replace the screen. They will replace the unit with a refurbished. Same if you were to send it direct to Garmin. the repair cost is around $120. It is best to phone them to verify the current rate for what you want. Once you include shipping back/forth and the replacement cost it is better to buy a new Oregon 450. They are on sale for boxing week. Sale Ends soon.

There is a plastic polish called Novus that may work. I have never used it on touch screens so I am hesitant to recommend it. If you want you can try it at your own risk. Please share if it works for you.

A screen protector may help to mask minor scratches.
