After looking at many models on line I decided on the Montana 650, although the size scares me a little my eyes are not that good so willing to sacrafice. Now I see this brand new Oregon 650 with better camera and the ability to use Waas and Glonass sat's which should make it super accurate and very fast pick up for surveying but with smaller screen. Have any ideas or comments. I'm going from an Etrex Venture Hc so it's a big leap.

The accuracy will not be too much different in regular areas. Both units have WAAS but the new Oregon 650 has GLONASS. In really tough to track areas like urban and mountain canyons the Oregon 6XX series will work better because it can tack more satellites. When it comes to open areas they will be very close to each other. The Oregon may get a slightly better position from time to time but both should hover close to three meters with WAAS turned on. ( I have seen as low as 2 meters on units with Glonass and GPS). For the majority of users the extra one meter from time to time does not make navigation any easier.
