When I connect my Oregon 450 to a USB socket in my UTV I loose my Heart and temperature accessories readings, when I disconnect the USB cable and run on battery they start to register. Any ideas as what is causing this problem and how to fix it?

I have never heard of this problem. It could be noise from your UTV. Have you tried plugging it in using a different cable on a different vehicle?

Be sure to try all firmware updates to the GPS unit to see if that helps. If the problem continues it is best to report it to Garmin. 1-800-800-1020. They may have a fix or they may not know of the issue

I think I solved the problem, when the GPS starts from the UTV battery it goes through startup procedure for the computer and when it can't find a computer it then changes to regular menu procedure, in this startup it must miss some startup files. Simply press the shutdown button and restart. HRM and Tempe work.
