I am running vs 3.7 and tried to upgrade to vs 4 but could not get that to work
I want to buy from you numaps with lifetime upgrades to replace citynt which is now far outdated
Will it work ok on my current version or do I have to upgrade to vs 4 to run numaps?

I will eventually try to get to the bottom of upgrading to vs 4 but would like to use numaps in the meantime
thanks

What are you referring to when you say vs3.7? If you are referring to the firmware then you should keep that at the latest version always. If your unit can not upgrade to the latest firmware version then there is something wrong and you should get your unit repaired before buying any map updates for it just in case you get a new unit as a replacement. You can not transfer the maps or updates to the new unit.

The mapping versions currently go like this 2012.01, 2013.03 ... The nuMaps lifetime maps will update City Navigator NT to the latest version but you have to own a original copy of City Navigator NT.

It is better to buy a low end nuvi that comes with the map updates than to buy street maps for this handheld. The GPSMap 76CSX is best used with marine charts, topo maps and non street software. It will work fine with street software but the cost of vehicle navigators has dropped so much it makes sense to buy one for the voice instructions, larger screen and touch screen input.
