There is no guarantee that Industry Canada will allow 5W next year. We are all hoping that is the case when they revamp all the radio frequency rules and licensing.

So if I ordered a 655t from the U.S., would it work normally in Canada or would I have to make any modifications for it to work here? It has the camera which is an attractive feature.

US companies are forbidden to ship the 5W models to Canada, until the ban on 5W products has been lifted. There aren't any modifications needed, the frequency will work in Canada.
