Does the shaded relief with Canada Topo V4 work with this?

If I install Canada Topo V4 in the 62S will the "shaded relief" feature work or is this feature only available for the 62ST model?

All members of the GPSMap 62 series will be able to use Shaded terrain data. We recommend to buy the GPSMap 62S and add your own Topo Canada v4 maps. The T model comes preloaded with maps but they can only be used on the unit and contain data older than what is found on DVD.

Were do I find Topo Canada V4 maps to load them. Is it complicated? Are V4 the terrain maps? I am debating whether to order a 62s or the 62st. From the research so far it looks like the 62s is the way to go and load my own maps? I only need Alberta and BC maps

Hello Wally,

You buy the maps from our website. There is a link in the Accessories page of the 62S and at the bootom of this post. Do not buy the GPSMap 62ST for a few reasons. 1) it is better to have maps on DVD so you can use them with other units and on your PC/MAC. 2) The maps preloaded are older and are not as up to date as V4.

Buy the GPSMAP 62S without maps and add topo to them is the better way to go.
