I've seen some info on the net that the 62S might use an external antenna
e.g. when using it in a car. Is that true?

Yes the 62S will have an external antenna but in 98% of its uses it will not be needed.

I really doubt whether you'd need an external antenna in most cars either!

Your reply about the ext.antenna confuses me... your 62s specs, #54 says "External.Ant. Jack = NO"...?

Your spec on the number of Tracks looks wrong too, the Garmin site says "200" Tracks, your site "20"...? I see a few Garmin products have the number of tracks wrong. BTW - This is the whole reason I'm looking to upgrade my eTrex and I accidentally found this error... not so good.

These are significant errors and take time to find, you really need to get your info correct as I have relied on you to know your products...?

Hello Robbie,

The external antenna jack error should not have happened. We are reviewing all the spec tables. As per the routes, tracks and waypoint specs. They may change over time with updates to the unit.

Cheers
