In the past (your 76's ) we have had terrible sat reception in canyons and heavy canapy. We solved this problem by junking our 76's and purchasing the 60cxss.How does the oregons sat reception compare to the 60cxs? Also we would be using it for wildland firefighting so how wellis the touch sceen going to hold up around an abrasive like ash?

Hello Doug,

There is no reception issues with the Oregon series. You would need to add a screen protector to protect the screen You may want to try the GPSMap 62S that has a better antenna on it or the rino 530HCX that has the ability to track other rino users.

Cheers
