1) Is this unit being discontinued?
2) What do you recommend for mapping software for the NWT the Norhtwest Topo or the Canada topo DVD?

Hello Ron,

Yes this unit is at its end of life. It is still Garmins best selling outdoor unit by far. We recommend the Topo DVD for mapping in your area. We do not recommend buying maps as a download or preloaded on memory card. On DVD gives you more functionality, mainly on the computer side.

Cheers

Hello Ron,

They will continue to support the 60CSX but you wont see new features added to it. They will just make sure that it operates bug free going into the future. It is currently bug free to my knowledge at this time.

Cheers
Jordan

It is super for ground or air in the NWT. I used one (until it was stolen) in many different areas. My map was purchased on a micro SD card - mistake, as Jordan has mentioned above. Better to spend the money for the Canada-wide topo and install the part you need.

No matter where you go in Canada, you can install the area you want and remove the parts you don't want, using the puter.
