I have a Garmin Map60CSx which has a pre-programmed Topo Maritime chip which I installed. The manual only refers(1) To a blank chip that can be loaded from MapSource CD, and(2) Using it as a Mass Storage device. I don't want to damage my data but can I upload data to it from my GIS desktop and how can I find how much capacity remains? Ideally I'd like to upload all favourite downloaded tracks and be able to access them on the GPS.

Hello SnoShuz2,
If you purchased the topo maps pre-programmed on SD/microSD card do not write any other data to the card to be safe. If you purchased the maps on DVD then you can give it a try,= because if your topo maps get erased, you can just load them again with the DVD.

Cheers
Jordan
