How compatible is the DeLorme PN-60 with Mac. I have heard everything from compatible to not compatible at all.

Hello Cathy,

You can not use the Delorme software on a MAC, PC only. You can use the mac to transfer files to the units memory but not run the map managing software.

Although I use a windows computer, according to the Delorme hosted forums, Topo 9 works fine on a Mac with the Parallels desktop package installed, versions 4 to 6. The Topo 9 NA data base can be installed to the PN60w independent of a computer running the pc version of Topo 9, you can simply tranfer files from DVD to the unit. For my outdoor use of the PN60w including Spot, I make little or no use of the pc Topo 9 program although I have added some maps and sat views with my Delorme map subscription. Check Delorme's forum site.

Hello SailorSam,

Thank you for sharing. The delorme units are not MAC compatible. You can run most things using parallels but that is Windows and not MAC. I am aware of everything you said above, but that is a work around.

The MAC OS will not run the Delorme software so we will have to say it is not MAC compatible.

Cheers
