I am thinking about getting this product. Can you get aerial or satellite images on it? If so how and where?
Thanks Jordan

Hello Jordan,
You can upload custom maps to the Garmin and Colorado Series GPS units. This is a very new feature for these units. I have tested it with the Oregon series and it works well. We will be posting a Video on our site and social networks on how to do this very soon. In the mean time here is a link to Garmins Tutorial on how to do make you own map.

** Keeps the maps 1024x1024 and in JPG format. I spent hours trying to get everything to work and it turned out the problem was my custom maps where to large **

Cheers
Jordan

If you are looking for map data to make into a custom map there are thousands of sites out there. For the US I would check the USGS and NOAA website. In Canada www.geogratis.ca has good data. I would do Google searches for different types of maps you need, once you figure out the custom map procedures.

Cheers
Jordan
